Summer Solstice Reflection & Nature ID Walk
Meeting at Meditation Point, organizers will lead the group in a brief summer solstice reflection exercise, and then native plant & tree stewards will lead an ID walk. Our walk around the lakefront will feature identification, appreciation, and storytelling.

About the Event
Join Edgewater Environmental Coalition for the kickoff event of our Community Resilience Workshop series, centering creativity and joy as we gather as neighbors to learn about local trees and reflect on the summer solstice. Meeting at Meditation Point, organizers will lead the group in a brief Summer Solstice Reflection exercise, and then stewards from Openlands, Chicago Region Trees Initiative, and the Chicago Park District's Natural Area's Program will lead a walk. Our walk around the lakefront will feature tree & native species identification, appreciation, storytelling, and getting to know the largest trees in the area. We will end at the Meditation Point where those who wish can join the EEC Summer Solstice Celebration!
There will be food from a great local restaurant that practices sustainability. We would appreciate any added donations you wish to bring to this free event.
