Join us at the Illinois Clean Job's Coalition rally against the Peoples Gas rate hike on April 1!
Participate in the plastic pellet count at Montrose Beach on May 2! This information will help raise awareness and pass legislation to reduce plastic in Illinois waterways.

Gas bills are rising across Chicago — but why, and what can we do about it? In January of 2026, Peoples Gas proposed raising rates once again. This increase, if granted, would raise monthly gas bills by an average of $10.60 per month. Peoples Gas rates will have increased by 71% in just 4 years.
Neighbor Action Night! Stop the Peoples Gas Rate Hike: Join your neighbors on March 26th at 6:30 PM at Spiteful Brewing for an informative and action-focused evening.
On April 1, join the Chicago Rally: Say No to the Peoples Gas Rate Hike Daley Plaza - Wednesday, Apr 1 at 5:30 pm.

Community Connections
311 & EEC Flood Community Assessment: Submit your site or spot with flooding issues in Edgewater here. This information will be used by EEC (Edgewater Environmental Coalition) to advocate on water and flooding issues in the neighborhood and prioritize areas for tree and native plant plantings.
If you notice water that's collected or remained in the street after recent storms, file a Water on Street Complaint with 311.
The Forest Preserves of Cook County is home to a diverse array of native plants and animals, both large and small. To help protect these natural areas while hosting your event, consider adopting green gathering practices. Whether you’re planning a reunion, a birthday celebration, or a simple picnic, there are plenty of ways to make your gathering more environmentally sustainable.
